Regular Council Meeting

Be it resolved that the agenda be accepted, including the modifications made forthwith, as applicable.

Be it resolved that Council approve the minutes of the regular Council meeting held on November 25, 2024, as presented.

Be it resolved that all items listed under 7. Consent Items be received and approved as presented.

Be it resolved that Council receives report CAO-05-2024 regarding The Nation Municipality Public Library Board status; Be it further resolved that the The Nation Municipality closes its Public Libraries as of January 1, 2025 until March 28th, 2025 (as per option 3 of said report), to further efforts to recruit to fill the vacant seats on the Board, and to support the board in recruiting a Chief Executive Officer for the Board, while also researching other options with neighbouring library boards and the school boards (as per options 1 and 2) in said report. Be it resolved that The Nation Municipality Public Library branches may reopen before the above deadline, if the board is ready to resume operations, the CEO is hired, and all board seats are filled.

Be it resolved that a virtual special council meeting be held on December 16, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. to consider the final draft of the 2025 budget.

Be it resolved that $208.28 will be taken from the Mayor's donation account to cover the cost of the rental at the Annex location.

Be it resolved that Council approves that the funds remaining in the municipal donation accounts for the year 2024 be transferred to the donation accounts of their respective wards for the year 2025.

Be it resolved that the following By-laws, be read in first, second and third reading and adopted, as presented: By-law #130-2024 Road dedication - Seguin Road By-law #138-2024 Road dedication - Hazel Crescent and Giroux Street By-law #139-2024 To appoint financial auditors for 2024 to 2026 By-law #140-2024 To appoint Chief Administrative Officer Pierre Leroux Be it also resolved that By-law #122-2024 to adopt the Engineer's report for the Caledonia Creek Municipal Drain be read a third time and adopted.

Be it resolved that the present meeting be adjourned at 7:49 p.m. for a closed session under the following section(s) of the Municipal Act, 2001: Section 239(2) A meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered is, (d) labour relations or employee negotiations;

Be it resolved that the present meeting be reconvened at: 8:10 p.m.

Be it resolved that By-law no. 141-2024 to confirm the proceedings of Council at its regular meeting of December 9, 2024, be read and adopted in 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading.
