Regular Council Meeting

Be it resolved that the agenda be accepted, including the modifications made forthwith, as applicable.

Be it resolved that all items listed under 7. Consent Items be received and approved as presented.

Be it resolved that Council receive report REP-AD-19-2025 as information, summarizing Year 1 implementation progress of the HR Action Plan 2025–2028, and reaffirm the strategic direction and staffing investments as outlined.

Be it resolved that Council approve proceeding with the transmission main projects PZ-2 and PZ-1.

Be it resolved that Council approve giving a donation of $500.00 to le Cercle des Fermières de Fournier, $250.00 to be taken from the ward 1 donation account and $250.00 to be taken from the ward 2 donation account.

Be it resolved that Council approve giving a donation of $500.00 to le Leadership Féminin de Prescott Russell, $300.00 to be taken from the UCPR donation account and $200.00 to be taken from the ward 6 donation account.

Be it resolved that Council of The Nation Municipality endorses and supports the Ferme Albert Forgues for their application to the Province for a Special Occasion Permit for their event to be held on September 27, 2025 in the Village of St-Albert, this being a municipally significant event. Be it also resolved that the Nation Municipality does not assume any liability for lawsuits or claims from these activities.

Be it resolved that Council approve giving a donation of $700,00 to le Club des activités familiales de St-Bernardin, $200.00 to be taken from the UCPR donation account, $250.00 to be taken from the ward 1 donation account and $250.00 to be taken from the ward 2 donation account.

Be it resolved that Council approve giving a donation of $1,000.00 to Rally for the Cause, $250.00 to be taken from the ward 1 donation account, $250.00 to be taken from the ward 2 donation account, $250.00 to be taken from the ward 4 donation account and $250.00 to be taken from the ward 5 donation account.

Be it resolved that the property taxes for the properties as per Schedule “A” hereto attached be cancelled in accordance with Section 354 of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Be it resolved that the By-laws listed below be read and adopted, as presented: By-law 91-2025 to adopt a code of conduct By-law 95-2025 to appoint representatives to the Court of Revision for the Remi Gauthier Municipal Drain By-law 96-2025 to amend the Open Fire By-law #84-2025

Be it resolved that the present meeting be adjourned at 4:32 p.m. for a closed session under the following section(s) of the Municipal Act, 2001: Section 239(2) A meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered is, (e) litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board; ( k) a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations

Be it resolved that the present meeting be re opened at 17h00.

Be it resolved that By-law no.98-2025 to confirm the proceedings of Council at its special meeting and regular meeting, both meetings held on September 8, 2025, be read and adopted in 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading.
